The Writers’ Room Virtual Poetry Reading was an amazing event. Like beaming into a coffee house without the house. You bring your own coffee. We met on a hot Thursday evening without having to leave our homes.
I sat at my old wooden table with my laptop open. I hosted this poetry reading that included writers from four states. We read our original work and we were fed with words that filled our hearts. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us in our video-conferencing room. Thank you for the extraordinary poetry and prose; it was a smorgasbord of delight.
What happens when writers read their own work in a (virtual) room full of others writers? The air becomes electric with anticipation. Eyes close and ears open wide to catch the essence and the words. We are bathed in the musings of others. The space becomes a sacred space. We are transported into a world of wondrous diverse inspiration.
Do you want to join us next time?
We will do this again. I hope you will join with us. If you would like more information, please contact us. Just put Writers’ Room Poetry Reading in the subject line. Tell me a little bit about yourself and your work. I will send you a link to enter into our virtual room.
The Writers’ Room holds a weekly video-conferencing writing class which is available around the world. Class sessions are 4 weeks long. More information here. We will have new classes starting up again in September; please stay tuned!
